“THE YOUNG GLOBAL LEADER”
“The Young Global Leader” Contest (YGLC) is a global motivational initiative to inspire  leadership amongst youth, started by scratchmysoul.com- it is the world’s first  people-oriented website.
In scratchmysoul.com each human being is mapped in terms of his footprints,  weaknesses and strengths apart from profession, location and name-features which are basic to all societies and are secular.
Youth form the bulk of the global energy force that can be harnessed to usher in a positive change in the world. The YGLC contest aims to inspire a new level of awareness and responsiveness in youth- so that they aspire to be creative, technologically savvy, talented and ambitious, while having at the same time an evolved sense of environmental sensitivity, social commitment and capacity to lead their entire generation and shape the world into a better, happier and more peaceful place to live in.
The Young Global Leader” Contest
This is a contest for searching and selecting young leaders in two categories:
• School Category (Class VI-Class XII)
• Collegiate Category (Undergraduate, Graduate and Postgraduate) Category
Phase I: Registration/Nominations
Participating schools/colleges can nominate students from their respective institute who have obtained (A) satisfactory academic results in their last exam and (B) who have a well-rounded personality and (C) have a good social image and an enhanced sense of purpose. Nominations will be on the fact-sheet given on the YGLC Website for the cities for which the contest is on.
Alternatively, students can add their own profile online directly by filling a registration form  on website: www.scratchmysoul.com.
The contest is open for students of Class VI-XII for School category and Undergraduate/Graduate/ Postgraduate students in the College Category.
All students have the opportunity to detail their achievements and accomplishments, submit their own views on the parameters of the contest. These details  and the public perception about their competence and suitability will form the basis for online social ratings.
Duration : 2-3 Weeks
Phase II: Online Voting
Community-peer group, teachers, friends and neighbours will be invited and urged to rate nominated students on parameters that are defined on the website.  These parameters cover aspects of a student’s social and environmental sensitivity  and leadership quality. The ratings would be automatically summed and quantitative results/positions will be displayed online in real time on www.scratchmysoul.com under the Young Global Leaders Contest section, separately for each category.
Evaluation Parameters for the contest:
  1. How well does the person carry himself/herself as a young leader?
  2. How good is he/she in talent development and extra-curricular activities?
  3. How sincere and meaningful is the person towards learning, discovery and creativity?
  4. How sensitive is the young person towards environmental issues?
  5. How sharing and caring is the young person towards the disadvantaged and less fortunate?
  6. How disciplined in personal habits is the young person?
  7. How respectful is the person to Teacher, Staff, and Elders?

Phase III: Virtual Jury Process
Top 25 candidates in each category will be assessed by our eminent jurors online. The topic for video is “How have I actually (a)Helped the disadvantaged and needy. (b)Done something for the environment. (c)Brought cheer to my neighborhood and Society .” The ratings of jurors would be automatically summed and quantitative results/positions will be displayed online in real time, separately for each category.
Duration: 1 Week
Live Final Countdown
Candidates short-listed by the ‘Virtual Jury’ (10 candidates from each category will be chosen) will be invited for the “LIVE FINAL COUNTDOWN”. This mega terrestrial event will be attended by school/college children, teachers and staff, family and friends, eminent citizens and media. This is a fun event, with a very responsive and enthusiastic audience to cheer the candidates.  The  MC introduces the candidates and ensures maximum comfort level for the students so that they give out their best. Candidates have to respond live to questions/issues raised by an eminent jury on the following topics in the presence of the audience and the media. The jury would cover specialists in:
  1. Environment & Science
  2. Philosophy & Social Affairs
  3. Current Affairs
  4. Art & Culture
  5. Sports & Well-being
Candidates would be assessed by the Judges on the following:
