Bhopal bloggers symposium organized by Scratchmysoul.com in association with HT
on 10th April was a big step in the social networking. This event was made a success
by the joint participation of active and novice bloggers from all segments of the
intellectual community.
The event was enlightened by addresses
from the eminent speakers and guests. DC Jugran, Information Commissioner and former
DGP of Madhya Pradesh was the chief guest. Other eminent speakers were Raghav Chandra,
Principal Secretary Urban Development Madhya Pradesh, Shailendra Srivastava, and
IG Bhopal, ON Shrivastava, ex-Governor of Nagaland, and NK Singh, Resident Editor,
Hindustan Times, Pravir Krishak, CEO scratchmysoul.com. Credit for success of the
event also goes to Mrs Ambreen Zaidi who coordinated the event.
Bloggers symposium acted as the common platform for the blogging community to voice
their ideas and opinions. Through this symposium the concept of ‘focused blogging’
was brought to the fore. It is blogging with the purpose of making the civil society
informed. Idea of maintaining an online personal diary was put forward as the part
of focused blogging. Chief Guest Mr. Jugran, himself wrote few words in his personal
online diary on scratchmycoul.com.
As a part of the symposium, role of blogs
in many important world events were discussed and highlighted. Also many interesting
facts about blogging were exchanged among the participants. To make the discussion
lively, participants shared snippets of their blogs of various styles ranging from
satire, humor, poetry and critique. Legal issues related to the blogging were also
pointed out.
At later stages of the event, open discussion was conducted which involved participants
to put their views openly on the topic of “Blogs as the tool of social expression”.
Also the
“Blog Reading Contest” was one of the key
attractions of the event and saw blogs by participants and English as well as Hindi.
The event was concluded successfully with the all participants agreeing to the fact
that “Only informed citizens can change the society and can make it better”
